Waste water containing oil and fuel is drained away from the floor area or channel drains and into the separator. The waste water then enters the separator through a hydraulically engineered inlet which aids in evenly dispersing the incoming waste water. As the waste water slowly and evely flows through the main body of the separator, the heavier sludge and sediment are separated from the wastewater and sink to the bottom of the chamber while at the same time the lighter oils and fuels are separated from the wastewater and rise to the surface.
