The design of expansion joints is time consuming, prevents architectural continuity and requires a high level of accuracy in execution. The new dowel Schöck DORN® SLD facilitates planning and installation on site; is cost effective; and ensures execution at the highest level of responsibility. Schöck DORN® Type ESD - transfer of transverse/lateral force in expansion jointsThe single thrust dowel from Schöck is the right option where you need to use relatively low strength construction materials to cope with less demanding loads. The basic DORN® dowel, available in different material strengths, can be used for dealing with different situations. Together with the specially designed fire resistance collare, a fire safety classifiaction of F90 is attanable with all types of Schöck DORN®. The Schöck element is made form stainless steel and is corrosion proof. Due to the reduced susceptibility to friction and high resistance to abrasion of the material, you can ensure the long term maintenance free flexibility of the expansion joint, which in turn ensures the load bearing capability does not degrade. The DORN® has been type and performance tested by the German Institute for Construction technology (DIBT) in Berlin and received accrediation. Due to the optional fire resistance collare it is also good enough for an F90 system solution. Therefore, the Schöck DORN® tupe SLD offers greater planning freedom without compromising standards and reduces risks in the planning, construction and hand over stages on site.
